The way the night covers the day, and the way the day outshines the night, each day we are reminded, nothing on this earth will last. What was here today will not be there tomorrow. Except for Allaah. That’s the reality of this world. Once you become attached to a part of it, Allaah will take it away to remind you of Who He is. That He is the One who remains, always remained and will always remain. Allaahuakbar.
“Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish. And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will remain forever.” 1
Do not let yourself become attached to this world, otherwise that is all you will think about, your day, your night, your sleep, your Facebook, your phone, your email will always be concerned about that and you will feel empty and sad without it. You will begin to ask why do I not feel that joy anymore from Islam and subhaanAllaah you will realise that joy, that blessing was taken away. Why? Because you allowed something else to take its place and that would never be able to match it allaahuakbar.
Each one of us will have those special days, the day you graduate, the day you have a child, the day you get married and so on but all of those days put together will never equal to that one day, Yawm al ba’ath wal nushoor, the day of reckoning. And that’s all it comes down to and that’s all that truly matters.
During these times, many accusations have come out as they have done so in the past and many more fingers will be raised but never lose hope, in who? In Allaah. If a group work towards something which is of khayr, which pleases Allaah then He will never allow it to be lost, to be destroyed, He will preserve it and He will continue it. So do not be dependant upon figures or individuals, for Allaah will preserve that which is good. Nothing happens except that it is for good.
I sincerely believe, the state of Bangladesh, is one of great honour and opportunity, something which we have to appreciate. Why? Because now the hypocrites have been exposed, the liars have been exposed, the Muslims who were dead in their hearts through these events are abandoning nationalism towards unity upon Eemaan, a bond regardless of race, ethnicity or colour – a bond wherein love increases for a person when the person increases in love towards Allaah and His Messenger.
We should be at the forefront, working hard, proactively engaging ourselves in preserving His Deen, honouring His Deen. We should feel this deep sense of responsibility and hold ourselves to account if right now we shy away. Realise you are someone gifted, channel that for His pleasure. You don’t know whether you was created for the fire, and we ask to be saved from that, or for the Paradise, and may Allaah give us the best of deaths and let our best day be the day we meet Him. Aameen.
At the same time, we should not think that the success depends upon anyone or ourselves, where we think, ‘if I don’t do this and that, then nothing will happen,’ it is easy for Allaah to replace anyone of us, this position of honour that we have been given, this platform, easily Allaah can take that away from us and replace it with a people much greater. So don’t think that it’s in any way something that you or I have. Recognise the position you are in and the opportunity that has dropped in front of you, for you to gain benefit from. An opportunity Allaah through His Mercy dropped in front of you, otherwise what are you but mud and dirt with quite a bit of water. Allaahuakbar.
“O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islam), Allaah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allaah, and never fear of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.” 2
