Do we ever realise our parents worth?
Mountains of responsibilities they bore and continually bear,
Who knows one day (inshaAllaah) this will be us!
Do we think we just appeared and we grew?
They would give up their lives for us, if only we knew.
From birth to adulthood…
They sheltered, clothed, fed & taught us the right from the wrong.
So, one day we can take on what the world throws at us & transform from weak to strong.
Can we ever repay them for what has been and what has gone?
Who else looked after you, though the nights were cold and long?
Their mercy and their compassion can be reflected through a dove…
They have strived throughout their lives, though they may have been pushed and perhaps shoved.
Hurdles upon hurdles they have climbed & they have crossed.
So take a step back, THIS is what you call love.
The difficulties, strain & agony we can barely comprehend!
Ya Abba, Ya Ummi…
You are my teacher, my source of solace, my carer & my dearest friend.
