Muslim communities in suburbs and market towns are most vulnerable to threats and intimidation, according to a new report published by the University of Exeter in collaboration with the European Muslim Research Centre (EMRC). The report titled ‘Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate crime: UK case study 2010’ was published on Saturday 27th November in the London Muslim Centre and is part of a 10 year academic research.
According to the report, many incidents of hate crimes involving Muslim victims go unreported due to such reasons including fear, alienation and suspicion of the authorities. The report contains several case studies and some very useful analysis too.
